This session is all about helping DDCs more effectively use the available reports and resources to improve Staff Certification, that is critical to improving your LEA’s Out of Certifications. Learn about the new process, the common barriers, and how simple strategies will help you maneuver this area of state reporting successfully. 

 

So, you have been appointed as your District’s Data Protection Officer…Now What?

Were you recently bestowed the title of DPO? Are you overwhelmed by the alphabet soup of acronyms that followed this honor? NIST, PBoR, DPSS, PII,...just to name a few. Are you having a hard time wrapping your mind around where to start with the whole process? The team from the RIC one Data Privacy and Security group will provide an overview of the responsibilities of the District Data Protection Officer. Learn about the resources and tools that are available to help you in your role as you work to protect the data and systems in your district. The session will cover Education Law 2-d Part 121 Regulations, as well as provide updates from NYSED.

 

Speaker Bios:

Anju Mansharamani is a Program Coordinator II at NERIC’s Data Warehouse. She is a frequent presenter on SIRS data reporting for the more than more than 130 school districts, 7 BOCES, charter schools, and nonpublic schools in NERIC’s region that spans over 17 counties in NYS. For the past few years, Anju has been a project manager working with multiple districts and BOCES, seamlessly guiding them through NYSED reporting. She holds an MBA from SUNY Albany, and a Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering.

Michele Hausmann is a Program Coordinator for NERIC’s Data Warehouse in their Albany office. She is also the Project Manager for NERIC’s Shared Data Assistant Coordinator service. Additionally, Michele publishes a monthly Data Warehouse newsletter to help keep LEAs on-task and on-time. Prior to joining NERIC’s Data Warehouse, Michele supported school districts using eSchoolData student management software. And prior to that, she spent many years implementing automated systems for school libraries; and, designed, developed, and delivered extensive end user and support staff trainings.

Jason Clark started his educational career in the classroom as an Earth Science teacher for 10 years. Over the past 8 years he has worked closely with educators around the Central NY region helping to integrate technology into the classroom and is currently the Model Schools Coordinator at the CNYRIC. Recently he has taken on the leadership role for the RIC one Data Privacy and Security Service at the CNYRIC.
