9:45-11:15 am Session 1

Recalibrating Schooling post Pandemic: Implications for data collection and use

John Sipple

Given the substantial disruption of COVID-19 on local schools and the communities they serve, the time between now and the start of the 2021-22 school year may be a unique opportunity to rethink and recalibrate our data interests, needs and capacities. To help us brainstorm, I will briefly review 2-3 commonly used NYS data tools along with a new national tool (https://edopportunity.org) of relevance to our work. We will then collaboratively brainstorm amongst the DATAG group about possible and plausible enhancements to these data and tools to create a new tool(s) that would benefit educators, communities and the DATAG community. I will lead a group discussion on a recalibration of what is most important in data collection, analysis and dissemination for the audiences served by the DATAG members.

11:20-12:00 pm Session 2
